We started doing Knit Alongs last fall since our Tuesday night open knitting group was becoming pretty consistent. We started with Andrea Mowry's Range Shawl and it was such a hit we did it again in winter with Joji Locatelli's Pure Joy. It is so fun to see everyone's color choices, get help along the way, and feel motivated to complete a project. We seem to be on the shawl train because we decided to do another one for spring!
Our pal Britney suggested a pattern by Janina Kallio and after a vote in our Facebook group (you should join!) we chose Ardent.

Ardent is a lovely spring shawl that only takes one skein of fingering or sock weight yarn. I think this is a piece that will become the perfect transitional staple in your wardrobe.
Want to join us? You don't need to live in Milwaukee! We will cast on at open knitting March 28 but you can join us from afar! This time around we will offer a $25 gift certificate to the first person to finish (we are using the honor system here..you can't use an Ardent you have finished in the past!) and another special prize for the best "in progress" photo (Britney suggested this great idea!) submitted by May 1.
How to participate:
1. Purchase the Ardent pattern.
2. Choose your yarn.
3. Cast on the shawl on March 28.
4. Post your progress on Instagram and/ or in our Facebook group and use the hashtag #whfcspringkal so everyone participating can follow along with you!
5. If you finish first you'll win a $25 gift certificate to use on anything in the shop! We will award the best "in progress" photo an extra prize if posted with the hashtag or in our Facebook group by May 1.
Have fun! We can't wait to see everyone's yarn choices!
